The Kirsty Appeal

Fundraising for the Francis House Children's Hospice

Project Info

Susie coordinated The Kirsty Appeal which secured £5 million for The Francis House Children's Hospice in Manchester. Susie organised press and book launches, Marathons, dinners, and celebrity auctions to raise funds and the profile of the hospice.

Highlights from the campaign include:

  • Kirsty helped smash the £5m target at her Angel Ball held at Manchester's Hilton Hotel in October 2006.
  • Kirsty was the mascot for the 2002 World Cup qualifying match between England and Greece.
  • Kirsty and David Beckham presented the Jubilee Baton to the Queen during the opening ceremony of the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
  • In 2003, Kirsty started the inaugural Great Manchester Run, and took part in the race herself, via wheelchair, wearing the Number 1 vest.
